24 in 48 Readathon | Updates

Hello there, and welcome to Liz’s late but made it updates post for January 2019’s 24 in 48 readathon. I signed up yesterday and was absolutely going to post early this morning, but if I am honest I got completely distracted by reading, and that’s the point of this whole thing so I am trying to not let it annoy me too much. I’ve added my goals and TBR to the post too, to remind me/us of what I said I wanted to do and to tick things off as I go! Continue reading “24 in 48 Readathon | Updates”

24in48 Readathon | Updates

Hello fellow book lovers! Welcome to the world of 24in48, where there will be updates and reading abound (hopefully), snacking (definitely), and lots of chillaxing with a good book.

So with that in mind, what is it, how does it work, and who created this? Well, 24 in 48 has all the details, but simply, track reading as much as you can with the aim of it being 24hrs in 48hrs over the weekend. It’s low key, with few rules and even less pressure. You can read more, you can read less, it’s up to you. Once you’ve committed, sign up and track your own/other progress all over the internet.

In previous attempts, I’ve stuck to my own timezone, but I’m not so sure that’s a good idea this year, so, I think I’m going to shake it up a little bit this time, and do it on Eastern Time. I’ve always thought it best to do it on my own time, but I don’t want to miss out on the challenges, and it makes it easier to follow ‘hour 1, hour 2…’. We’ll see how it goes.

Friday Reads: 24 in 48 Readathon Sign-Up

So it’s that time again folks, time to over-commit to reading a ridiculous amount in 48hrs for the sake of good fun and a difficult challenge. I made that sound like no fun at all. I am actually super excited!! I took part in the last readathon in January (see here, and here). The premise of the readathon in super easy and very simple:  Try to read for 24hrs in a 48hr period this weekend. Seems easy enough to attempt, if you have the weekend off and stuff. And this time, I kinda do have the weekend off. It’s my Dad’s birthday on Sunday, so there is a family gathering for that, and I am back in work after a period of recovery from the car crash, so I’d like to feel ready for that, but otherwise, I’m good for trying to read for 24hrs this weekend. 24 in 48 Readathon: Wrap

24in48The idea of the 24 in 48 readathon is simple and awesome. I love the idea, and one weekend it will fall when I am able to complete it. Unfortunately, this weekend was not it. I was in work, which is naturally removing vast amounts of reading time. I am tired from the copious amounts of overtime I am doing, and I was generally weary. I needed some time to just, well, do nothing, y’know? Continue reading “24 in 48 Readathon: Wrap”

24 in 48 Readathon

24in48So…..there is this readathon on all weekend. A readathon that I’ve never heard of, but that Emma was participating in, so I thought I would give it a go. It is called 24 in 48, and it is pretty simple really: Try to read for 24hrs in a 48hr period this weekend. Seems easy enough to attempt, if you have the weekend off and stuff. But no, no way, I didn’t take this on sitting at home enjoying a weekend off, I’ve done it on a weekend where I am in both days for a full shift. Well….gotta love a challenge!
