O.W.Ls Readathon 2020 | Update

Hello witches, wizards, muggles, and trolls! OWLs Readathon 2020 is running through the whole of April (check out my sign up post here), so I thought I would do a quick revision update to see how I have been getting on with each exam assignment now as we’re a week into this readathon!

This readathon is probably one of the few things keeping me sane at the moment. There is no sport on the TV, there is no frivolous trips out of the house in the nice weather, and working from home cabin fever is starting to hit. Don’t get me wrong, I am working and living in a nice house, but still it’s not the easiest time so a good readathon was definitely needed.

I’ve had a great month/readathon so far! I’ve used last weeks Cosy Reading Night and the lockdown to try and read more and it is so far working pretty well. I am definitely listening to less audiobooks now that my commute is only my stairs, but I am physically reading more books again and that is a very nice side effect. I am hoping to find some truly amazing stories, hopefully some that completely take me out of the world as it is now and into something.somewhere completely different and new and captivating. O.W.Ls Readathon 2019 | Wrap Up

Well well, witches, wizards and Muggles, O.W.Ls 2019 is officially almost over. We’re on the last day, the very last stretch, and I am so pleased with my progress and performance but absolutely gutted that the readathon is over! I can’t believe that this amazing readathon has been going on for a month, I mean, where has that gone eh? I hope you had a great month!

I am very pleased to report that I managed to complete ALL 12 of the OWLs subjects. This was my hope, but not really my aim, as I didn’t need to finish them all to pursue my career of either Curse Breaker of Ministry of Magic worker in the Department of Mysteries. I’ve read some really great books this month, both for this readathon and not, and I am really pleased it has paid off. Check out what I read:

O.W.Ls Readathon 2019 | Update

Witches, Wizards, and Muggles, Easter has been, the sun is most definitely shining, and the end of exam season is in sight! I would normally be ecstatic to see the back of exams, but I adore this readathon, so I am kind of disappointed that it’s nearly over already. We still have just over a week left, that’s plenty of time to work towards our exam targets and complete some last minute revision!

I have had a slightly slower middle of the month in April. I have been tackling some longer books, and also been re-reading the Beautiful Bastard series, which sadly doesn’t count for anything in terms of OWLs challenges.  I finished the first few challenges really quickly, and have only finished one more since the last check-in. That said, I am definitely further on than I was. I have finished a vital subject, I am over half-way through the final challenge that will secure any of the career paths I am interested in, and I then will only have two challenges left to pursue a full house and finish ALL of the OWLs.

O.W.Ls Readathon 2019 | Update

Hello witches, wizards, muggles, and trolls! OWLs Readathon 2019 is running through the whole of April (check out my sign up post here), so I thought I would do a quick revision update to see how I have been getting on with each exam assignment now as we are a third of the way through the month.

I am still completely undecided on my career path. Well, not, that’s not entirely true, I have narrowed it down, but Curse Breaker and Department of Mysteries worker are still both drawing me in, so for now, I am still working to complete these two. Realistically, I also wanted to obtain Outstanding in my OWLs which meant completing 9 exam topics, so I opted to focus on the subjects I needed for the career paths I am interested in, and then filled in the topics I also really wanted to read for too.

I’ve had a great month/readathon so far! Last year, I caught this readathon just after it had started and unfortunately was in a reading slump so didn’t feel like I made the most of it. I was determined to do it properly this year, and have read a decent amount so far, got through a few topics, and most importantly, I am enjoying what I am reading!!! 24 in 48 Readathon | Updates

Hello there, and welcome to Liz’s late but made it updates post for January 2019’s 24 in 48 readathon. I signed up yesterday and was absolutely going to post early this morning, but if I am honest I got completely distracted by reading, and that’s the point of this whole thing so I am trying to not let it annoy me too much. I’ve added my goals and TBR to the post too, to remind me/us of what I said I wanted to do and to tick things off as I go! Continue reading “24 in 48 Readathon | Updates”

Bout of Books 24: Day 5

You guys I’m tired. It’s supposed to be the end of the week, but I don’t have that Thank God It’s Friday feeling because my next day off is actually next Thursday. I know it’s my own fault, shift swaps and what not, but its leaving me with no energy left to read. That’s it, enough moaning, onwards and upwards now as I have had my mini rant. We have 3 days left of this readathon, let’s see how much we can all read.

Bout of Books 24: Day 3

Today is a much needed and hugely appreciated day off from work, and even though there is lots to do around the house, I think I am going to try and have a bit of a relaxing day, because once today has gone, I don’t have another day off until next Thursday. I am really enjoying the actual reading in Bout of Books 24. I have been so busy with work that I must confess that I haven’t done as much chatting and socialising with you all yet, but I am loving what I am reading and I really enjoyed the sprinting last night. I am thinking about doing some more this afternoon, would you be up for that?
