March TBR

Yo guys, it’s the end of February! I know, it’s crazy that we’re headed into March already, but it’s blowing a blizzard outside and is bloody freezing, so if you’re a winter bunny, you’ve got a bit to go yet.

There is still a little bit of February left so I haven’t committed to writing my wrap for the fear I’ll finish a book before the end of the month, so, I’ve decided to think ahead to next month. March is a month that’s long, and cold, and is the transition between the winter and being poor, and the spring and being hopeful. I have tried to read some more respectable fiction (and non-fiction) over the past couple of months and have done quite well, so to keep those efforts on track and to make sure I’m still ticking off challenges for Around the Year in 52 Books and Book Riot Read Harder, I’ve done a March TBR. It’s a bit ambitious, but if we’re honest, it always is!

Frenchman’s Creek Daphne Du Maurier

I have actually already started this book, so it’s more about finishing it than listing it as ‘to read’. I’ve really enjoyed the first 40ish pages, and think I’ll be able to shift through it pretty quickly when I get the chance to just sit down and soak it in.

The Road Cormac McCarthy

I am determined to read some modern classics and it’s firmly believed by pretty much everyone that this is a book from our generation that will be around for a long time. It was also featured on Oprah’s book club, which means it fulfils a Book Riot Read Harder challenge too.

American Psycho Brett Easton Ellis

I really want to read this and have done for a while, so, when Audible had their sale a few days ago, I splurged on 7 books. One of them was the narration of this novel by Nick Landrum, so I think this will be my next Audio Book conquest.

The Tsar of Love and Techno Anthony Marra

My Dad put me onto this book a while back and I liked the sound of it. A lot. Sooo I bought it a while back and it just sat on my shelf looking all pretty. It’s set in Russia, it’s literary fiction, it fits a whole host of challenges, and it sounds like fun.

Ragdoll Daniel Cole

I purchased this crime novel because I obtained the follow up as an ARC. I need to read it before I read that, and it’s all about murder solving, so I’m sure I’ll like it and get through it pretty quickly.

Hangman Daniel Cole

I’m sure you’ve probably worked it out, but this is the ARC follow up to Ragdoll. It’s due out on March 21st, so I really want to get reading and reviewing.

The Watchmaker of Filigree Street Natasha Pulley

I’m not quite sure how many audiobooks I’ll have time to read this month or how many hours I’ll listen for, so this will be the most likely book I’ll embark on when I finish American Psycho. No idea if it’s something I’ll enjoy, but I’ve heard good things and I’m intrigued. We’ll see.

The Elite Kiera Cass

I have almost finished The Selection which is the first book in this series. I thought it would just be a filler while I worked out what I wanted to read, but I ended up actually really enjoying it. I know I’ll end up wanting to read this pretty soon, so I’m preparing!

Children of Blood and Bone Tomi Adeyemi

I wanted this ARC so bad that when I wasn’t granted it I instantly pre ordered the book. It’s due to arrive next week, and I can’t wait. I know as soon as I have it in my grubby hands I will probably devour it.

That’s quite a few books, I’m ever the optimistic. I’m sure I’ll probably read this many books, and that they’ll probably end up differing from this TBR, but I quite like having a plan and some of the challenges in my mind as I choose my reads.
