I was nominated a few days ago to complete the ice bucket challenge, and after recovering from my cold (I didn’t think it best to dump a bucket of freezing water over my head while I was ill) I completed it.
I decided to donate to the Motor Neurone Disease Association rather than ALS (the US version of the same charity, and the cause responsible for the viral craze.) I am not downgrading the importance of the ALS association, I just feel as a Brit, I should donate to the charity over here and spread the fundraising around a bit.
I also donated to Parkinson’s UK, a charity close to me. I urge you to donate to this cause, or to find a charity close to your heart and raise money/awareness in any way you can. It seems dumping ice cold water is the current way to do it, but if that is not your cup of tea, check out some fundraising ideas online, or come up with you own scheme.
