Fat Friday: Week 28

Guys, this week has been really busy. I have been hitting the overtime hard to save money for Disney, and when I haven’t been doing that, I’ve basically been at home watching the football, or been eating. I know, what a life. I have heard some suspicious rumours that there is an upcoming mini heatwave. I’d like a bit of sun and warmth, but i would take reliably clear right now, not going to ask and beg for too much.

Fat Friday is a weekly blog post tracking my weight loss and fitness journey, used to keep myself accountable, keep a record of my progress, and share hints & tips that have helped me. To track my progress, or read my previous entries, click here.

Please join me, support me, and help me along my way as I aim to improve my life for the better! Continue reading “Fat Friday: Week 28”

Adulting: Pensions

I turn 25 this year. That’s a quarter of a century. The average woman in the UK lives to 81, so I am nearly a third of the way through my life. Isn’t that a scary thought?! And not only that, the retirement age currently sits at 67 (and is forever rising) so I know I am likely to spend the next 40 years working. That means I have pretty much working years left of my life. Again, isn’t that a scary thought? And so with this dim outlook, I am constantly being told to plan ahead, start saving, and get a pension. Nothing screams ”hey you’re an adult now” that having a meeting with a financial planner and discussing pension options. Continue reading “Adulting: Pensions”

Adulting: Wage Slips

I’ve decided to blog about the highs, the lows, and the in-betweens, of going my own way, morphing from childhood to adultdom. So, every Monday I am going to welcome the week with a post all about Adulting. This week, my post is pretty much the reaction to receiving my pay slip last Friday. They should include reading a payslip at school, along with things like transitioning to adult calendars, and what to put in an adult packed lunch. (I think I have enough moans and groans about what was missing from the school curriculum to fill a future post….) Continue reading “Adulting: Wage Slips”

Grand Plans

3 weeks today, Jade and I will be arriving in Florida. 3 weeks tomorrow I see my parents ofr the first time in nearly a year. 5 weeks yesterday, we meet up with Jade’s family, and 7 weeks on Monday we fly home and the grand travel adventure is over, done-zo, finito. I can’t believe how fast it has all gone, and how soon I am going to be home. Continue reading “Grand Plans”

Music, Monotony, and Monks

It’s been a while since I last blogged, a whole week I believe. I’d love to start this new week with an action-packed adventurous week that was so interesting I didn’t have time to write. Unfortunately, the truth is much more mundane than that. This last week has been fairly void of intrigue and fun. I won’t go as far as to say boring, but it’s the first week in a long time that has been routine-filled and monotonous. Continue reading “Music, Monotony, and Monks”
