25 Questions About Me Tag

I was looking for an enjoyable tag that wasn’t related to anything in particular, and stumbled across this little gem over at the blog: Emma @ Life of Gibbers. It’s a nice little introduction to random things about you, that are nicely personal without being intrusive, and give a wide idea of what I’m like and who I am than a usual bookish tag. Let’s get rollin’.

1. What is your middle name?
My middle name is a cheeky palindrome: Hannah

2. What was your favourite subject at school?
I really enjoyed both science and geography, which is probably why my degree is a BSc in Geography really.

3. What is your favourite drink?
I do love a good coffee, but I am also partial to a good glass of cold lemonade. And not sprite or some other rubbish version, proper, cloudy lemonade. Continue reading

Strictly Come Dancing: Week 4

Good evening ladies, gentleman, boys, and girls, and welcome to another Strictly Saturday. Can you believe that it is already week 4?! And this week I have some amazing news. I say news, it’s more something that happened this week. Shirley Ballas, The Shirley Ballas, head judge and queen of the dance floor, liked a tweet of mine! I know, I was super excited too!

Last week, we lost an absolute legend and entertainer Rev. Richard and Dianne. Not gonna lie, I am gutted. He wasn’t the best dancer but he looked like he loved it so so much. You knew that he would always be giving it everything, he didn’t make mistakes, and he went full out with the entertainment value. It’s not going to be the same show without him!

Tess is back in her asymmetric dress, and Claudia is back in her heavy eye make-up, which means it must be the start of the show… Continue reading

Strictly Come Dancing @ The Movies: Week 3

Welcome one and all! Get you blankets and your popcorn ready and get comfy, because this week, Strictly is going to the movies. *cue music* du du duhhhh duhhhhh duhhhh du dededuuuhhhh* This week the celebrities are moving and grooving to songs that featured in film, so get ready for classic songs, themed dances, and the odd costume or five!

Last week was the first elimination week, and we said goodbye (outrageously and sadly) to Chizzy, She was fiesty, funny, and she really went for it. She was truly brilliant entertainment, and I am absolutely gutted that she won’t be in it anymore. As much as I am not Pasha’s biggest fan, he’s pretty fun and a laugh, so losing the pair of them so soon in the competition just sucks.

I wonder who will step up this week and who will stumble under the pressure? Let’s get on with the show!

Strictly Come Dancing: Strictly’s Back!!!

Strictly Come Dancing is officially back. Three weeks ago the celebrities shimmied their lycra-ed selves onto the dance floor and were paired with some of the best dancers in the country ready to strut their stuff in the ballroom for us all the critique eating takeaway on the sofa. I jest. Kind of.

Last year, my friend and housemate Emma and I teamed up to write a weekly live review of the show. As much as we were pleased when the posts went, and as great as it was to look back and see what we thought, the actually writing of the post as we watched detracted from the enjoyment of the show. So this year we have abandoned the posts, and instead, I am going to do a little bit of a weekly round up and review of what I thought.

So, sit down, get comfy, and be warned…there are sparkly spoilers ahead! Continue reading

New Years Resolution: 1st Quarter Check In

At the end of last year, I decided to compile a list of resolutions for 2017 in the hope of improving various aspects of my life. I set myself some rather large goals, and as I have a tendency to set them and the completely forget what they are, I have decided to check in with my progress over the year. So, now as a quarter of the year has gone, it seems like the perfect time to check my progress for January, February, and March. Just to recap, my New Years Resolutions can be found here. New Year, New Resolutions: Welcome 2017

happy-new-year-champagne2016 has been a mixed year overall really. I’ve really settled into a job I enjoy, and have got into a routine of making my way to work, maximising my day there, and making it home with minimal effort and wasted time. I’ve moved out into my own place, and I have welcomed the lovely Emma to Liverpool and our house, and I have travelled to some great new places. While 2016 has seen some global nightmares, questionable political decisions, and too many celebrity deaths to entertain, it has been a fairly solid year for me personally. I hope to continue this into 2017, and to help me a long I have made some resolutions to enter the New Year with. Continue reading
