T5W | Hidden Gems: Thrillers

I absolutely love it when you read a book that someone has recommended that you are quite sure that you would never have discovered and read without them. I love discovering hidden gems in genres I love, and genres that I’ve never actually read before. I love lots of different books, but one of my favourite genres is thrillers. There are lots of thrillers around, some well known and some lesser known, so it’s time to share some of the hidden gems!

T5W: Books We Like to Dislike

We all have those books, the ones that you really didn’t like at all when your read them, but love to talk about and moan about to anyone in a bookish conversation. I’m not gonna lie to you, I have been known to buy the second in a series just because I know that once I have read it (and disliked it) I will enjoy moaning about it! Yep, you guessed it, that’s what this week’s Top 5 Topic is all about!

T5W: 2018 Bookish Resolutions

Welcome to the beginning of a New Year, to promises we hope to keep, adventures we hope to take, and books we hope to read. 2018 is upon us, can you believe January is here? If I am honest, January is my least favourite month of the year. It’s cold, it’s wet, everyone is in a Christmas slump, it’s financially difficult, and let’s be honest, everyone is ratty on their post Christmas diets. So, this year I am going to try and get out of a January funk and actually enjoy doing things, starting with reading.

T5W: 2018 Wishlist

Can you believe that Christmas and Boxing Day are over already? It’s my Mum’s birthday tomorrow and then it’s New Years, so like already there is lots for our family to celebrate at this time of year, but it’s going so quickly! I’ve read into so many new genres, started more recent releases, and read brand new authors over the past year, so for the first time in a long time there are new releases that are coming out in 2018 that I am really excited about!

T5W: Characters On The Naughty List

It’s getting to that time of year again where we all get our pen and paper out and make some lists. We list all of the people that we need to send a Christmas card to, and mark whether we need to subtley acquire their address. We make a list of everyone we need to buy a gift for, and record what we’ve bought them. We begin writing our cards, and wrapping our presents, and hoping that others are doing the same for us. It’s a time for elf on a shelf, and visiting Santa, and of course, the naughty and nice lists!

T5W: Bookish Things I Like To Grinch About

We are well and truly into December now. Blogmas is going well, I am enjoying opening my advent calendar(s), and we are planning on putting our tree up soon. Annnd I have started to wear my every growing and ever more epic collection of Christmas jumpers, my favourite of which brings me onto this weeks topic: Bookish Things I Like To Grinch About. I love books, and I am hugely respectful of the fact that some people have managed to put their work out there for others, BUT there are some things that just do my swede in.

T5W: Paranormal

As we get closer and closer to Halloween, I am seeing more and more spooky recommendations and creepy book themes. So many books are based on scary creatures, and unsettling happenings, that these books and posts are just made for this time of year. I was having a good think about the post for this week, and couldn’t think of many/any paranormal books that I have read and enjoyed. And then I thought about it and realised that I was being super ridiculous (what a surprise!)
