T5W: Books I Thought I’d Hate and Ended Up Loving

I saw this topic and thought it would be really interesting and really easy to do. We’ve all been taken by surprise by a read before that blew us away when we weren’t expecting much, and this is all about celebrating those books. When I actually sat down to think about the list, I realised that it was actually quite hard. I tend to read books I think I will like, that are in my wheelhouse, so I don’t start from a position of reading a book that I don’t feel I’ll hate and then find that I love it. There are still a couple that have jumped out, here we go!

T5W: Fictional Places I’d Take a Date To

I love it when a topic comes along on Top 5 Wednesday that makes you think ‘oooooo I like it’. This was one of those weeks, obviously, or that previous comment wouldn’t have made any sense! I think we often fall into the habit of thinking about where we would go or what we like when it comes to prompts and tags, but not what we would do with other people.

T5W: Bookish Boyfriends I’d Break Up With

Without trying to sound like one of those sad singletons, I am please to have a topic in the month of Valentine’s day that is about people you would break up with in books. That is probably sad, but I think as many of us have had a visceral reaction to a character not breaking up with someone as we have had when two characters don’t get together quick enough. This list wrote itself pretty easily and if I am being honest probably could have been 50 names long, but, I have kept it doen to five, y’know, because it’s Top 5 Wednesday.

Happy hump day friends, how are we all doing? It’s apparently the worst week of the year right now so I’m quite pleased we have a topic that is looking forwards and not backwards, and that is most definitely hunting for the good things. I think it’s safe to say that my TBR fluctuates with the best of them and that at any time what I want to read is constantly changing, so it’s nice to take stock and have a think about what is currently top of my TBR pile.

T5W: Disappointing Books of 2018

We all have our favourite books of the year, I posted a Top Ten books of 2018, and so did many other people. We have a tendency to focus on the books that we really liked or took us by surprise, and we never really think to talk about the books that disappointed us. I’m not talking about books that we really didn’t like, or books that we absolutely despised, but making that distinction that we’re talking books that disappointed us. Y’know, the overly hyped ones that were average, the ones that you take a punt on and weren’t the risk, yep, those ones. The thing is, I didn’t hate any of them. Some of them were given 3 stars because they were OK, they just weren’t what I was expecting.

T5W: 2019 Reading Resolutions

Can you believe that we’re already in 2019? I know, me neither, time seems to move so much quicker now as I’m an adult. On New Year’s Eve I set out some Resolutions for 2019, some for my life, some for blogging, and of course, some for reading. I am have decided to do a reading journal this year which is already taking shape, both to help track my reading and to satisfy the want to bullet journal, and use readathons and challenges throughout the year to keep me motivated and help me fulfil the following resolutions!

T5W: Books I Didn’t Get To in 2018

Happy St. Stephen’s Day! Happy Boxing Day! Happy Hump Day! Whatever you celebrate, I hope you’re having a fantastic Wednesday, and if you’re a Christmas kinda person, I hope your Christmas was filled with fun and happiness and lots of great food! I had a really nice Christmas, lots of good food, family, generous gifts, and even a quiet bit of reading and TV watching in the evening. It made me think about the books I was given, and also, the books I have at home that I really wanted to read this year and never managed to! T5W: Books I Want To Read Before 2019

Howdy folks! I realise that today is probably your average hump day for anyone else, but it’s pretty good for me. It’s my day of because IT’S MY BIRTHDAY. Whoop, Happy Birthday to Me! I had a great pre-birthday celebration this year as I have recently got back from a two week trip to Florida and I bought myself lots of presents. I spoilt myself, and got some pretty awesome gifts from friends and family too, including books. Look at that perfect lead into this week’s post: Books I Want To Read Before 2019.

There are quite a few books that I really want to read at the moment, and quite a few of them that I want to read all at once right this minute, but this list is limited by both time and title, so it’s going to be five. It’s so hard to choose!
