Happy Wednesday guys! How is everyone doing this week? Look at this, I have done two Top 5 Wednesdays in two weeks! I’m currently taking part in Tome Topple this week (to view my progress, click here). But yes, I couldn’t exactly miss this weeks topic, could I? It’s a good’un this week: Books that would make good video games. C’mon, join in!
It has been a while, hasn’t it. I have been up to my eyeballs in work lately. Yes, it is all my own fault, I’ve signed up to an excessive amount of overtime, and that will mean lots of money, but it has left me with a very limited amount of time to do things outside of work. Y’know, like remembering to take part in Top Ten Tuesday, oops. Oh well, couldn’t let a freebie week go past now, could I?

And that, as they say ladies and gentlemen, is that. I can’t believe we are over a week into the new year. I can’t believe that the readathon is over once again. I have had a really good week, in life, in work, and in reading, so it has been a pretty good start to the year all in all, how about you?
Anyway, the readathon. How did you get on? Continue reading
I’m getting that Friday feeling. I have nothing major planned for the weekend except lounging around, a cinema trip, and a Tavern breakfast, and it is glorious to think of doing so little. Well, not little, reading, watching, and bullet journalling. Just a 10hr shift before then. Not too bad….?! Oh wait, the gym after… Continue reading
I am in denial that this is the half way point and I am going to pretend that it’s just going to go on forever, OK? Good! I have a normal shift slot, length, everything today, no overtime or crazy starts or finishes, which makes a weirdly nice change. It’s the local pub’s quiz of the year tonight, and I will actually have an evening to do things. I am hoping the earlier start also means more reading time of course too!
The last TTT of 2016, wow, I can’t believe this year has gone quite so quick. I know, I know, we all say the same thing as each other at this time of the year, but seriously, this year has just evaporated away so quickly. It’s been a fairly good one for me personally, littered with change (for the better, mostly) travel, TV, books, food, friends. That said, it has been a weird year for the world, the curse of 2016 is still going strong, and in future, 2016 is going to become the stuck answer for any unknown quiz question answer.
For the final time this year, the lovely folks at Broke and Bookish team together to produce a book related topic each week, and you simply list the top ten of that topic. It’s official, I have given up on #readASOIAF for the foreseeable future. I absolutely plan to go back and finish them, but reading A Storm of Swords was sapping the enjoyment I get from reading, and preventing me picking up any other novels. So for now, it is nowhere to be seen on my bedside table. As much as I am sad about this, it had to be done.
This week has passed at a scary pace. Emma and I have kept Ikea in business, and successfully built a large amount of flatpack, I have started to tidy downstairs, we’ve both been at work, I’ve rejoined my old hockey team, we’ve done a lot. Maybe this has made the week go quickly, or maybe time this week really did just speed up, but either way, I feel like I’ve lost a few days. Continue reading
