April: It’s a Wrap

Look, Look, I am actually posting a wrap post on time. What is happening in the world?! I have gotten back into a real reading, reviewing, and blogging routine at points of this month, which is probably why I remembered this so quickly!

OK, so this month that number/volume of reviews is going to be quite a lot shorter than usual. That said, I am still pretty pleased with my progress because I have finished some books that have been on my currently reading list for literally months, and I have read a lot of long books. I completed the Tome Topple readathon this month, the point of which is to read books over 500 pages together, so the fact I have actually managed to read 6 books this month is pretty good going. Tome Topple Readathon | Updates

As you may have seen from my earlier TBR post, and my twitter account, I have decided to take part in this month’s Tome Topple Readathon. To monitor my own progress, and keep all you lovely people up to date, I am going to post regularly (ish) here!*

For those of you who don’t know much about this awesome readathon, check out the dedicated Goodreads or Twitter. A brief overview, over the next 2 weeks, the aim is to tackle and read as many books over 500 pages as time and sanity allows!

Tome Topple Takedown TBR

Another month, another readathon, and this time it’s a big one! Yes, it is Tome Topple Time! We all look at big books and find them a little daunting, and a lot less appealing to haul down off the shelves and read. So, to battle that, we take on these beasts together, and tackle the 500+ page books that have scared us off before (or that we just feel like taking on now!)  Whether you read 5 pages, or 5 books, it’s all about tackling those bigger books and have a laugh taking part!

The next round of the Tome Topple Readathon will take place from midnight in your time zone on April 7th to 11:59pm in your time zone on April 20th! Tome Topple Takedown can be found at the Goodreads group handily titled Tome Topple Readathon page, and any progress, updates, or titbits can also be found at the twitter handle @Tome_Topple, so why not join in to? Friday Reads: Thank God It’s Friday

Ahhh, That Friday Feeling. I know everyone talks about it, but I feel like I haven’t felt it, in, well, a long while. I have the whole weekend off for the first time (holiday aside) since January. I say off, I have work things to do, housework, building furniture, and of course, it is Mothering Sunday in the UK, so I will be celebrating that with the family. Emma and I have also made grand plans to both read and blog, it’s nice to be able to set a block aside for that sort of thing. Continue reading

Holiday Reads

I am sure many of you are aware of Friday reads: blog/tweet/instagraming about what we plan to read on that Friday and over the weekend? Well, a little inspired by Jessica, I decided to take the premise and apply it to my upcoming holiday. I love reading, especially while I am away, and I am planning to take a few books (maybe a couple more than Mum realises) so I thought I would let you all in on my holiday TBR. Continue reading

Friday Reads: It’s almost holiday time!

Today is my last day off before I go on holiday. I am firmly on a countdown clock until I go away, and I have just 3 days left in work! I can’t wait. So where am I going, I hear you (jealously?) ask? I am going, with my Mum, to Miami/Caribbean, for almost 2 weeks and I am super excited for some winter sun, and to see more of the Caribbean Islands. And yes, I am already planning which books to take away we with me for the cruise. Continue reading

TBR Takedown 5.0: TBR

Another week, another readathon. Another new readathon in fact! This time, I am tackling the TBR Takedown, a new readathon on my list, on that the lovely Emma told me about. It is a low-key readathon held by Shannon from leaninglights (her YouTube & Twitter) and this round, TBR Takedown 5.0, will start at midnight on Monday 6th February and run through until 11:59pm on Sunday 12th. Yes, it may be low-key, but there are a couple of challenges to help you on your way, and prioritise your reading, so I’m going to try and incorporate my reading!

For more information, or to read/tweet along once it gets started, see the readathon Twitter. Continue reading
