Fat Friday: Week 39

I am desperately trying not to moan about the heat because I really am enjoying the warmer weather and the consistent sun, but it’s been a bit toasty this week, hasn’t it? It’s been a real shame that I have been in work all week and haven’t had the chance to get out and about in it, but I’, going to try and make the most of it. It’s been a fairly standard week, there isn’t too much to say so it might be quite a quick one.

Fat Friday: Week 37

I knew this glorious weather was going to break at some point, but the wind this week – Gee Whizz it was bad! I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen that written down before! How is your June going? Can you believe that we’re nearly halfway through the year? We’re at that point where you’re closer to putting up your Christmas decorations this year than taking them down last year, which is quite exciting if you love Christmas as much as we do in our house.

Fat Friday: Week 36

Hello friends, how is everyone? How are you enjoying your weekend, the weather, the long days and longer nights. It’s been an alright week overall. I’ve had a good mix of work, exercise, reading, and fun, and I feel like the balance has been just right. Is this what summer is? I’m on a bit of a savings fest ahead of my holidays in the fall, and I have decided to up the ante with weight loss ready for my trips, because I want to look better than I do right now. Nothing wrong with some summer goals, amirite?

Fat Friday: Week 32

Look at me remembering to post on a Friday night all over again (well, I mean, it kind of is right, even though it’s technically past midnight?!) I have been writing this post for hours though now, mainly because I have forgotten how to do things like blog, but also because I have been taking my whole day off to do completely diddly squit. It’s been quite a busy week full of things that don’t help dieting in anyway but are quite fun.

Fat Friday: Week 31

Oops I did it again! I know, I realise it’s Saturday but in my defence we’re having the best weather we’ve had in months and my friends are to visit us for the weekend, so I have been a little bit preoccupied. I’ve had a busy week at work, followed by a couple of days of catching up and getting outdoors. I think the summer is arriving, and I am all about this better weather, this can stay.

Fat Friday | Week 29

Erm, what’s going on? The sun has come out, the weather has turned from snow warnings and freezing winds to the warmest day April has seen, and I am all about this weather. I actually really like the summer and the warm even though I like winter clothes, and have been waiting for this turn for weeks. I know it won’t stay for the whole of summer, in fact I’ve heard vicious rumours of a thunderstorm this weekend, but I’m enjoying this warmth and mood lift even so.

Fat Friday: Week 24

Good evening everybody, how are we all? I realise that this makes me sound like an old person, but, aren’t the nights getting lighter? I commute at any point between 5am-10:30pm, depending on my work shift, so it makes a huge difference to my mood if I drive in the light, and it also makes me feel like I haven’t spent the whole of the day in the office! And as the days get longer, the weather turns, and we all end up happier. Yay! That’s the theory at least!

Fat Friday: Week 21

This is the last full week of February. I am so pleased, because I am ready for my work bonus, and I am ready for Spring. I also have some days booked off in March, so I should be able to have a bit of a relaxing time. I’m looking forward to it, and Easter. But that is by the by, because here and now, it’s a Friday evening, it’s blooming freezing, and the nice sunny days have really just been cold days in work.

Fat Friday: Week 19

Good evening everybody! How are we all doing? How was your week? It got a bit chilly didn’t it? The temperature plummeted here in the North West of England, there was a day of snow (sadly none of it stuck), and lots of freezing wind. I also had to properly de-ice my car for the first time in 2018. It wasn’t what I wanted to be doing at 4:59am if I am honest! This weekend has been a little bit up and down, but overall, I think we can say it’s not been a failure!

Fat Friday: Week 15

Howdy! How is everyone doing this cold, miserable January evening? I bet you’re all looking forward to the weekend, am I right? I’m sadly in work all weekend, well, not all weekend, but I’m in on early shifts so my weekend is pretty much out of action. I don’t mind, it could be worse, they could be late shifts, but I’ll still pretty much do nothing with my weekend. We’re in the middle of my favourite readathon, Bout of Books, and as I’m quite strapped for cash at the moment, I don’t think I’ll end up doing that much this week.

I’m not gonna lie, I was quite sad, upset, and disappointed with my lack of progress last week. I was pretty devastated to see the scales tip to +2lbs, I was gutted that some of the progress I had made before Christmas had been undone, and was worried that I had completely careened off track with no clue how to get back on. I think it may have been the push I needed to get back in the game, but it was pretty rubbish and made me feel like absolute crap. I quickly realised that I didn’t want to feel like that again this week.

First things first was to get back exercising. Yes, my foot still hurts and if anything has got worse, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a type of exercise that will help, or at least that won’t hinder. I gave yoga a go, and actually really quite enjoyed doing Yoga at home. I gave Adriene’s 30 Day’s of Yoga – Day 1 workout a go (click here to give it a go yourself) and actually thought it wasn’t too bad. It didn;t hurt my foot, it definitely helped my back, and it was a relatively low key workout to get back with it. I decided not to risk zumba, as that is high impact on your foot, but gambled with the gym. Yes, it hurt, and yes I can tell I’ve lost quite a lot of fitness, but it was good to do a harder workout, and then I went with my Mum to aquacise. I love being in the water, and the class gave me no pain whatsoever. I really should do these classes more often when I get the chance!

Eating has been much harder to improve. I don’t eat that unhealthily on the whole, but I have grown accustomed to eating a little more and eating more unhealthy things over Christmas, which is hard to shake when you have the taste for it. Snacks were starting to creep a little way onto the radar again, and I was craving unhealthy things like chocolate all over again. Having Emma back in the house has certainly encouraged us both to cook and think about our meals again, and I am starting to remember to take lunch to work again, but all in all this is the  struggle I have at the moment. Hopefully, as the exercise gets a little easier and becomes routine again, so will the eating?

I have had an weird week. It’s been Bout of Books, which is one of my favourite readathons, challenges, events that happens each January (and May, and August). I have really got back into reading this week, which is really nice and is stopping me watching quite as much TV as I had been. TV is definitely snackbait.

WEIGHT: This week: -1lb Total: -18lb

EXERCISE: 3 Sessions: 1x Yoga, 1x Gym, 1x Aquacise

MOOD: Optimistic

RECIPE/FOOD/SNACK of the week: Salt and vinegar chickpeas

HINTS/TIPS of the week: 30-day yoga with Adrienne

Any weight loss is victory, even if I really wanted to lose the weight that I put on last week and get back to -19lb. Onwards and upwards.
