You guys, I am going to Disney World this month. Yes, you read that correctly, this month I am taking my friend Emma to Florida for the first time where we are going to have all the fun in Disney and Universal and have the best time. The closer we get, the more excited I am, so I have decided to channel said excitement into a tag! I found this amazing Disney themed Tag on Michelle’s Purple Pumpkin Blog, so please check her out, and consider yourself tagged for all the fun (especially you Emma – we need to get ready for our holiday)! Fat Friday: Week 28
Guys, this week has been really busy. I have been hitting the overtime hard to save money for Disney, and when I haven’t been doing that, I’ve basically been at home watching the football, or been eating. I know, what a life. I have heard some suspicious rumours that there is an upcoming mini heatwave. I’d like a bit of sun and warmth, but i would take reliably clear right now, not going to ask and beg for too much.

Adulting: Savings Update
I don’t know if I have mentioned it over the past few months, but I am going to Disney at the end of the year. If you haven’t heard, I am going at the end of October, doing a couple of days in Universal (Harry Potter’s Wizarding World really) and then going on to Disney to get the best of the Hallowe’en and the Christmas decorations. I am anticipating wanting lots to of spending money to spend on souvenirs, knick knacks, and all round treat myself. The problem with this: Universal, Disney, Transatlantic flights, they are all expensive.
I’m super lucky that I work in travel, an industry that allows me to explore the world, and gives me an excuse to go on holiday. The “problem” with this is saving money for a trip that far in the future, when you have 3 international holidays planned before. I know I know, I shouldn’t complain, and I am 100% not actually moaning about this fact, I love travelling, but it means I have been sidetracked. I knew this would be an issue working in the job that I do, so as soon as I started, I opened a variety of savings accounts and began researching savings methods. Adulting: Savings
Money. We all need it everyday, and yet lots of us are really bad at keeping some back for the harder times. I’ve been thinking about saving a lot over the past few years. First I saved to go to Kenya in 2010, then I saved at University to travel the world for a year, and for the last 2 1/2 years, my savings efforts have been split towards having a proper adult life and having enough money to see places. There’s so many different types of savings accounts, methods, not to mention pensions, that it’s been a couple of years of trying and testing different methods.
So, with that in mind, I have a set of 2018 Savings goals and some methods to try and help me achieve them! Continue reading “Adulting: Savings”
Fat Friday: Week 1
Week 1 is done, over, finito, and I have stuck rigidly to my diet! I know. I wanted to clap myself! I am starting to see results when I look at the scales, but I am yet to see any results when I look in the mirror or feel any difference in my self. I feel like I’m hungry a lot, but that I am simultaneously getting better at saying no to snacks without thought. I am also getting into more of a routine, or at least looking at my week and making time for a routine.

OK, so many of you (I say many…you know what I mean) may be feeling a sense of dejá vu right now. Yes, I have just posted a blog post with an identical title, all about books. But this year was a bad year of reading for me, so I also decided to do a TV shows and films one on a separate page.
For the (actual) final time this year, the lovely folks at Broke and Bookish team together to produce a book related topic each week, and you simply list the top ten of that topic. For all you lovely people who don’t know what Top Ten Tuesday is, or don’t know how to get involved. click here. The Most Magical Place on Earth
I have been to Disney a few times in my life. I’ve been lucky enough to visit Disney Land in California, and in Paris, and travel to Orlando periodically through my childhood. Although this time was different, my whole family weren’t there, I was booted and wheelchaired with a broken foot, and I went to the parks with a young child, there are things that remain the same. The shock of free-falling in the Tower of Terror, the excitement of seeing your favourite character has a short meet and greet line, the colourful spectacular of the firework displays, and of course, the feeling of pure, magical joy as you walk down Main Street USA and see the castle directly in front of you.
For those of you who followed my travels around the world, I do apologise that this has taken so long to write! Continue reading “The Most Magical Place on Earth”
