New Years Resolutions | 2nd Quarter Check-In

It’s the summer! The sun is shining, the days are long and bright, Wimbledon is on the TV, and we’re closer to this year’s Christmas than we were last year’s. The first 3 months of the year were not my best, and although I am not progressing like I’d like with my weightless/health journey, I think I’m not doing too bad half way through the year!

For the past couple of years, I have made a resolutions list, and then checked back semi-regularly to hold myself accountable and actually think about things to focus my time on. My 2019 Resolutions list is once again made up of a mixed bag of motivations that were supposed to be carrying me through 2019 in a positive and healthy way. I know that I haven’t had these in the front of my mind this year for a whole host of reasons, but also know that if they were, I would probably be making bigger strides than I am this year. I checked in at the end of March to see how I was getting on and definitely think I am doing better than I thought I would be.

My list is split up into sections, just like it was on my original 2019 Resolutions list. I’ve kept it like this to see if there are any areas I’m doing better or worse in, and to allow me to look back at different parts of my life separate from the others. I’m also operating a colour scheme this year too, same as I did last year, because it seemed to work really well!

New Years Resolutions | 1st Quarter Check-In

It’s broken record time my friends, but, can you believe that we are already a quarter of the way through 2019. Winter is starting to look like it’s behind us, the clocks have changed, and spring/summer clothing is definitely in the shops! For the past couple of years, I have made a resolutions list, and then checked back semi-regularly to hold myself accountable and actually think about things to focus my time on. I feel like the first quarter of 2019 has been very mixed, in many ways, so it will be nice to think about what I have accomplished and look forward with focus, determination, and quantifiable motivations.

2018 End of Year Book Survey

I think it’s safe to say that everyone likes to sit back at the end of the year and have a look back at what they have achieved over the previous 12 months, reading and blogging are no different. So, last year when I was perusing Perpetual Page Turner, Jamie’s wonderful blog, I stumbled across this fantastic bookish survey of her own invention that was in its 8th year and decided to fill in the survey! It’s a great post, with lots of reflective questions, and the bonus is that she has put a link on her original post so that you can have a looksie and a nosey through everybody else’s posts, and increase your 2019 TBR pile. You’ve probably guessed already, but, I’ve decided to do it again this year!

So, before I dive on in, please look at her original post, and maybe think about joining in too (don’t forget to credit her)! I would also like to point out that I repeatedly mention Emma. She is one of my good friends, who also happens to put up with me by living in the same house, and is someone I credit for telling me about a lot of the books that I have read and enjoyed. Her blog can also be found @ The Terror of Knowing!

*All stats are correct at the point of writing, but we have a week to go so some things might change! Continue reading “2018 End of Year Book Survey”

New Year’s Resolution: 3rd Quarter Check-In

It’s October. It’s Autumn. It’s over 75% of the way through the year. It’s only 2 and a half months until Christmas. Am I scaring you with the look how far through the year we are updates yet? I’m scaring myself if I am honest! We’re at that point of the year where you’ve done a lot of what you’re going to get done and the rest of the year is quite planned, when resolutions have been fulfilled, or started, or we’re too far into the year to fix, which is terrifying. Let’s see how I’m doing.

Blog Spring Clean

I’ve really got back into blogging over the past few months. I’ve got into a bit more of a blogging groove, and feel like I have a little bit of a blogging routine forming. The more I fall into blogging, and planning, and writing, the more I notice that I am unhappy with aspects of my blog itself. With this in mind, I have been looking into different aspects that can be tweaked and improved, and little things that I can do that will make me happier overall.

It’s time for some blog admin, an e-spring clean if you will. There are so many little bits of my blog that I am not entirely happy with, and I don’t quite know how or if it’s possible to fix them. There are aspects of my blog that I am debating upgrading and think now is the perfect time to consider them. Continue reading “Blog Spring Clean”
