So a month has gone by since I discovered the WWW posts, so I have decided to use that to my advantage and pretend I meant to make it a monthly thing. *shush* don’t tell anyone my secret *shush*. So, yes, what have I been reading? Well, a lot is the answer, thankfully. I have taken part in Tome Topple for the first time (for those of you who don’t know much about it, click here for my updates and info post) and it is going quite well. I have also finished some books lately that have been on my currently reading list since the summer of 2016, so a good blitz was very much needed.
Another month, another readathon, and this time it’s a big one! Yes, it is Tome Topple Time! We all look at big books and find them a little daunting, and a lot less appealing to haul down off the shelves and read. So, to battle that, we take on these beasts together, and tackle the 500+ page books that have scared us off before (or that we just feel like taking on now!) Whether you read 5 pages, or 5 books, it’s all about tackling those bigger books and have a laugh taking part!
The next round of the Tome Topple Readathon will take place from midnight in your time zone on April 7th to 11:59pm in your time zone on April 20th! Tome Topple Takedown can be found at the Goodreads group handily titled Tome Topple Readathon page, and any progress, updates, or titbits can also be found at the twitter handle @Tome_Topple, so why not join in to? Hi guys! Yes, I know, it has been a while since I have done one of these. I am not super consistent with it, but as I am going through a little bit of a fantasy binge, I thought it was perfect time to dip my toe back in the Top 5 Wednesday pool.
Ahhh, That Friday Feeling. I know everyone talks about it, but I feel like I haven’t felt it, in, well, a long while. I have the whole weekend off for the first time (holiday aside) since January. I say off, I have work things to do, housework, building furniture, and of course, it is Mothering Sunday in the UK, so I will be celebrating that with the family. Emma and I have also made grand plans to both read and blog, it’s nice to be able to set a block aside for that sort of thing. Continue reading
As you will probably all be aware, I steal Emma‘s posts and copy them as I have little (read no) imagination for some things. I’ve got pretty good at regularly updating my Goodreads now, but I thought it would be nice to reflect a little at my recent, current, and future reads, and so this post seemed perfect.
WWW Wednesday is currently hosted by Sam at Taking On A World Of Words so pop over to her blog if you want to see more readers’ WWW Wednesday posts.
I’ve got that Friday feeling today. Y’know the one, where work doesn’t seem to be dragging, your mood is much brighter, and the weekend is here? Yeah that one. Which is weird considering I am going to be in work all weekend, and actually don;t have a day off until next weekend. But there we go. Friday’s can just be that good. I think the lie-in might have had something to do with it?? Continue reading
The last TTT of 2016, wow, I can’t believe this year has gone quite so quick. I know, I know, we all say the same thing as each other at this time of the year, but seriously, this year has just evaporated away so quickly. It’s been a fairly good one for me personally, littered with change (for the better, mostly) travel, TV, books, food, friends. That said, it has been a weird year for the world, the curse of 2016 is still going strong, and in future, 2016 is going to become the stuck answer for any unknown quiz question answer.
For the final time this year, the lovely folks at Broke and Bookish team together to produce a book related topic each week, and you simply list the top ten of that topic. For all you lovely people who don’t know what Top Ten Tuesday is, or don’t know how to get involved. click here. If you’re a regular participant, or a newbie, you should also check out Bout of Books for a fun-filled New Year readathon! Continue reading
