The 140 Character Book Review – Magical Toons

These past couple of weeks have been devoid of activity since we arrived back from our visa run. Well no, I say devoid of activity, I really mean, devoid of productivity. I have been reading, quite a lot. I have been watching films and TV, quite a lot. I have been pottering in school teaching and helping, quite a lot. I have also signed up to take part in Live Below the Line again!

TV episodes, mainly of the Neal Caffrey and White Collar variety, have occupied most of our TV/film watching time. Now as we have finished the series completely (sob) I thought I would get round to reviewing the films we watched around his Caffrey-ness and whilst we mourn the loss of him from our screens (literally.)

I have had an incredibly busy couple of weeks; a couple of weeks that could only ever happen in Thailand. From monkey bites to ziplining, sunflowers to visa runs, Bout of Books to New Years Eve. It really has been wonderfully jam-packed!

Throughout this time, I have read. I mean really read. I have been shifting through books at quite a rate. I’ve had ample free time on an assortment of public transports, visa runs, and free lessons, so I’ve been doing something I enjoy with the time.

I’ve really got into the swing of reading as many books as is possible without going crazy in school. I need to up the quality fo what I am reading, but let us be honest, between ourselves. In our free time at school, we tend to fill our time reading, writing our journals, and attempting to stay awake in new and inventive ways. TV shows take up more of our watching time after school and at the weekends, but we are gearing up for a Christmas movie watching week starting tomorrow, so I thought I would make sure I reviewed the films we have seen in the past couple of weeks.

The 140 character book review – This is a tad embarrassing

I would love to say that the books that I am reading have improved in quality. Don’t get me wrong, two have, and I am really pleased I have finally got round to reading the Millennium trilogy, but some are downright embarrassing, and I 100% blame Jade. If she had not told me about them, put them on my nook, made me read them, and then watch the appalling film, then I would have stopped after book 1.

When I first moved from County to Pendle college at Lancaster University, it’s safe to say I hated the place. I had next to no friends on campus, and I was fed up with my course. Fast forward a couple of years, I’ve graduated with a BSc Honours degree from Lancaster University in Geography, I’ve made some awesome friends, and I am travelling the world (with one of them, although I think that is going to be the first and last time I call you awesome Jade ;P)

The 140 character TV show review – I blame Netflix

Netflix. What did we do without Netflix? How did I procrastinate? What did I watch? Netflix is the sole reason I have watched as many epsiodes of TV shows and seen as many films as I have. Gone are the days of watchig things on the TV at home, gone are the days of LoveFilm sending DVD’s to your house (LoveFilm really need to catch up!), it’s just all about Netflix.

The 140 Character Film Review – Travels Galore

There were too many films to review on one blog post, so I decided to separate the films between two posts. Sorry guys! We have watched quite a few more films than I had realised over the past 2 months (ahh, 2 months already) in addition to all the TV episodes we watched. I’m not remotely sorry, the past 2 months have been awesome.
