The Disney Tag

You guys, I am going to Disney World this month. Yes, you read that correctly, this month I am taking my friend Emma to Florida for the first time where we are going to have all the fun in Disney and Universal and have the best time. The closer we get, the more excited I am, so I have decided to channel said excitement into a tag! I found this amazing Disney themed Tag on Michelle’s Purple Pumpkin Blog, so please check her out, and consider yourself tagged for all the fun (especially you Emma – we need to get ready for our holiday)!

1. Favourite Disney Film?

Disney films are something of a favourite in our household and I am quite proud to say I have a large collection of them and if I am being honest, and equally large pool of favourites. Older Disney films are classics, and I am a really big fan of things like The Jungle Book, The Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King. More recently, I have taken a real liking to Tangled and The Princess and the Frog (both of which I think are far superior to Frozen) and more recently Moana. Pixar doesn’t quite float my boat in the same way as Disney classics, but, I am quite the fan of Brave. My favourite film of all the films I’ve ever seen however is Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. I don’t always see if as a Disney film (it’s more than that in my head) but it is based on a Disney ride and is made by Disney, so I guess this is it.

2. Favourite Disney Character?

I mean once again, this is a really difficult question. I really love some of the most beloved characters in Disney, Eeyore, Stitch, Belle, Rafiki, but my absolute go to and probable favourite is actually a classic character and definite good boy Pluto. I have lots of cuddly plush toys of him, t-shirts and bags with his image on, and it is him that I will always make time to get a photo with when we go to Disney Land/World.

3. Favourite Disney Princess?

What is with all of these really hard questions? I like Tiana’s worth ethic. I like Moana’s sense of adventure. I like Belle’s thirst for knowledge. I like Mulan’s beliefs. I like Rapunzel’s positivity. I like Merida’s determination. There are a lot of really great Disney Princesses, I really don’t think I can pick a favourite. I tend to pick all of my favourite traits from them all, and to see the best in each one.

4. Favourite Disney side-kick?

Disney does a good side-kick, and in many cases I actually prefer these to the main characters. I really love Olaf from Frozen, and Pascal from Tangled. Mushu is pretty awesome in Mulan, and Hey Hey from Moana is just hilarious. For this though, I am going old school. I absolutely love the seven dwarves in Snow White but I am not sure you can call them sidekicks when they’re mentioned in the title of the film so I’m going to look to Cinderella and her little mouse-y friends. Jaq and Gus are adorable, and mean so well and work so hard to help Cinderella (I have bought a Gus plush to take with me for photos in Disneyworld).

5. Favourite Disney Song?

I love/hate this question because I listen to so many different Disney songs that it is largely mood based. There are definitely film soundtracks that I prefer, at the moment these are Tarzan, Hercules, The Lion King, Moana, The Beauty and the Beast and Mulan. As much as I love a lot of Disney songs, if I could make a playlist that just consisted of songs from these films I would probably be a very happy Disney fan (and listen to Strangers Like Me and I’ll Make a Man Out of You on repeat!)

6. Which Disney Character would be your best friend?

Can I just say all of them? Pretty please and thank you? No, OK, fine. There are lots of characters I would like to be my best friend for different reasons. The Beast has an awesome castle and library, Remy is a mean cook, Aladdin has a flying carpet, Jack Sparrow has the Black Pearl, Dory would be super funny, Rapunzel is able to do lots of things and see the best in things. I don’t know, I am going to bow out on this one as I can’t possible choose! You can’t make me.

7. Who would be your Disney pet?

He is a troublesome rascal but Stitch’s heart is in the right place. He would definitely cause trouble and even more mess, but he would be loveable and would be a great addition.

8a. Have you ever been to Disneyland?

I am very lucky that I can say I have been to Disneyland in Paris a few times, Disneyland in California twice, and Disneyworld in Florida multiple times. I don’t think visiting ever gets old, I love it there and my enthusiasm is a large part of why I am so excited to be going back this month (I love that I can say this month, eek that makes it so real and so close).

8b. If yes, what is you favourite ride?

OK, I pretend like this is a hard question, but then I remember how much I love Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion and remember that both rides are far superior to everything else in any of the parks (disclaimer: I haven’t been to Disneyworld since the introduction of Flight of Passage – I probably won’t change my mind, but it’s a possibility).

9. Who is your Disney Alter-Ego?

I really did not know how to answer this question, so, I did the adult thing and found a quiz online that told me that my good and villainous alter-egos are:

Simba – He is your perfect match, and much like Nala, you are a fantastic friend. Your bravery will always surprise people, you laugh in the face of danger! You are a very loyal and caring person, people can always depend on you! You never let anyone down and people describe you as awesome because, you truly are. You’re one of a kind, so keep believing and work on that roar!

Jafar – An evil sorcerer with the badass clothes to match. You’re definitely Jafar.

10. Who is your favourite Disney Villain?

I love a good villain like the best of us and Disney has its fair share of scary and intimidating bad guys. I really don’t like Scar and Shere Khan, and think Man in Bambi is just awful. I really don’t think anything can beat a morally repugnant and sassy bad guy though, and the fella that tops the list has to be Hades. He is just vile, but hilarious, and has great side-kicks and he is just funny.

11. Do you collect anything Disney-wise?

I don’t avidly collect anything exactly, but, I have bits and bobs. I have a lovely set of different plush toys that I love dearly and have collected over the years. I also love Disney mugs, although they have to be a specific shape and they have to make me feel happy and want to drink out of it immediately. The only real thing I have collected was the Royal Doulton Snow White figurine set, which I have completed. I started to collect the Cinderella editions to, but sadly didn’t complete it before they stopped selling and stocking them.

12. What Disney film would you star in if you could?

I’d really love to voice a Disney villain. Yeah, being a princess is cool and all, but I’d love to be the Hades or the Ursula of the piece. If I was able to be in any film though it would have been as a Pirate in Pirates of the Caribbean, I mean, who would say to that awesome gig eh?

13. How old were you when you first watched a Disney Film?

Erm, I have no idea at all. I expect I was very young as my parents have told tales of me watching The Jungle Book incessantly and I have no actual recollection of this. I do remember going to see Mulan when I was very young at the local cinema which was one of the first films I saw in a theatre, and I remember watching Disney films at home, but I don’t know what the first film was or when I watched it. I started young!

14. Who is your favourite Disney Couple?

Ooooo, erm, Disney doesn’t always do the best or most conventional relationships and to be honest often don’t send the right message, BUT, I do really like Rapunzel and Flynn Rider/Eugene. I think they are cute, and see each other’s flaws and love each other anyway. They definitely see the best and the worst in each other, and don’t fall madly in love immediately.

I, of course, also have a huge soft spot and never ending love for Mickey and Minnie Mouse. They’re the ultimate King and Queen of Disney and they are forever actually the best.

15. What do you love about Disney?

EVERYTHING. No seriously, I mean everything. Disney is the happiest place on Earth and I really think it seeps into everything it does. Their films are great, characters are often awesome, products are amazing, and their parks are unrivalled. They just get everything.

Do you agree with these answers? What would you put?

I’d love to hear your answers, please comment below and/or tag me in your post!
