We’re at that point in the year now where the longest day has gone and every day is going to get shorter and shorter. I like driving in the sunshine and always leaving for/from work in the light, but it will be nice to get a full night’s sleep without the light streaming in through the windows. It’s almost July now too, the year is going so quickly, which is going to bring warmer temperatures and proper summer days. I can’t wait.
I am a little late at posting this week, again. I was in work all day yesterday and then Emma and I went out last night so I was just too tired to sit and write a post oops.
Fat Friday is a weekly blog post tracking my weight loss and fitness journey, used to keep myself accountable, keep a record of my progress, and share hints & tips that have helped me. To track my progress, or read my previous entries, click here.

This week has been a real mixed bag. I had a great long weekend to start the week, but have also started a trial role at work that has taken me out of my comfort zone. The beginning of the week was obviously stellar, and to be fair, I am starting to find my feet little bit with the new position, it’s just taking a while to find my stride. It’s not coming naturally which is a little alien to me, but I am determined to embrace it and learn something new. I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it fully after a couple of weeks?! To be fair, as the week has gone on I have started to understand it and get it a little more, but it’s still difficult.
The long weekend though, yes. To be honest, I didn’t do a huge amount on Saturday except shopping and marathoning the world cup. Boots had a great deal on to earn bonus points with their loyalty scheme, so Emma and I did a bit of a holiday shop and bought our sun cream and bits and bobs for our holiday. Mum came a long too and we got some stuff and broke the barrier to get the extra points pretty easily. It’s always nice to get something extra for shopping you would do anyway! We then headed to H&M and I made some huge strides in constructing my summer holiday wardrobe. I feel like I pretty much have everything I need now (even if they did muck up my order completely).
Well, there is always the Disney sale, and that proved to be a little bit of a money sucking black hole as we bought more holidya towels and funko pops and drinking vessels. The bargain of the week probably came in the form of new Samsonite Disney cases though. We were both looking for luggage as neither of us actually owned our own suitcases. Cue my parents sending pictures of expensive Disney cases slashed in price. I mean, we just couldn’t say no!
We had a brilliant start to our working week because, well, we weren’t working. We both took the day off and decided that we were going to use the day to go to Chester Zoo on a week day. I love the zoo, I love the animals, it’s such a great day out, and Chester Zoo happens to be one of the best zoos in the world, so it’s always an awesome place to visit. There were new exhibits and areas that have been built since my last visit, and Emma had never been, so we made the most of it. It was great, the zoo was fairly quiet (a few school groups aside) and we managed to go round all of the exhibits and see pretty much everything. We also took advantage of being in Cheshire by having a Cheshire Farm ice cream (I think it’s our favourite ice cream brand now!)
D’you know what is the cherry on the top of a great day out? A good post day. And as far as post days go, the deliveries I got on Monday were pretty incredible. I had missed a delivery a little while a go, so I needed to picked up a candle delivery, and then while we were out, a separate candle and book subscription parcel arrived at our house, and a H&M delivery arrived at my parents. I mean seriously, that’s good right?! The candles are seriously brilliant by the way, you should definitely check out Lacuna Candle Co. and The Tiki Candle Co. if you get the chance (Bayou and Coffee as the Castle are my new favourite scents of all time!)
Since then there has been lots of work and finding my feet in sales, and lots of time stuck in traffic, so Emma and I treated ourselves to a meal out at Wagamama and a cinema trip to see Ocean’s 8. That film was seriously good, the heist was flawless and brilliant, and the cast were hilarious and stunning. It’s had some harsh and frankly unjust reviews, and I think anyone who likes Ocean’s 11, or likes heist movies should definitely go and see it. It was also Emma’s first time in Wagamama and I think it went well. We tried something new to both of us in the form of Korean BBQ Bao/steamed bun. I know it probably seems like an over exaggeration but life won’t be the same again. And as far as treat days go, it was spot on!

2 STONE. I have hit another milestone guys and I am pretty happy about it. I am starting to notice subtle differences in my clothing now, and even though I don’t see it in the mirror yet, I think it’s starting to make a difference. On to the next stone…
