Fat Friday: Week 35

What a beautiful week we have had eh? OK, so there has been a couple of thunderstorms, but it has been warm and sunny and an absolute delight. I haven’t done as much as I would like with my week, but I have my hearing back, we’ve exited May (which felt like the longest month in a long long time) and it’s pretty much summer time almost now. Kind of. Which of course means summer bodies, salads, and summer holidays. I know which of those 3 I like the sound of best!

I really haven’t done too much this week. I still felt quite a bit rubbish over the weekend which was helped in no way by Liverpool’s loss in the Champion’s League final on Saturday night. My parents had just got back from Venice /the airport, and it would have been a great way to head into the summer, but instead we lost and I now just have an extraordinary desperation to go on holiday.

Speaking of holidays, it’s 3 months until Barcelona with my family and 5 months until Disney/Florida which means this diet needs to kick up a notch. I am thinking about taking drastic action, although I haven’t decided exactly what that will be. I’m toying between giving up bread (excluding wraps as we use those to may healthy pizzas and what not) and probably chocolate and crisps. I also love fizzy drinks, but they’re not good for you so I think they may be going as well. I don’t know. We’re going for a big food shop this weekend, so I might look at options/meals/ideas and decide what’s staying and what’s going as I walk round and theorise meals.

Short and sweet this week folks because there was so little to update you all on. Stay tuned for next week’s up date – I’ll bring news of the drastic changes that are coming this way for my holidays.

  1. Glad to see you’re feeling better! Did you see that diet programme on bbc1 last week? I only saw a One Show feature about it but they put a load of people on a meal replacement diet (which honestly looked gross) but they lost loads of weight. Normally I wouldn’t advocate fad diets AT ALL but this one was nutritionally balanced and backed by a doctor (a real one, not Gillian McKeefe). Worth a look?

    At least it’s summer so it’s much easier to make nice salads and stuff (although by the time you added cheese and bacon and mayo and a big wedge of bread you may as well have had pizza lol).


    1. Thanks!! I haven’t yet, but I have it bookmarked to watch at some point. I don’t fancy one of those but it might be a good way to boost or restart my weight loss. Not that I am going horrifically, I just need a kick.

      Haha exactly!! I think salads will come into play with work foods and I am completely giving up bread except post work out so I’m hoping that will help too.

      1. So I had a salad for tea…I’m now in bed…I’m STARVING…your comment has made me think about the big crusty loaf in my breadbin…and the can of pringles I hid from my boyfriend so he doesn’t snaffle them…seriously considering a midnight feast!

    1. Hahaha. It’s a bit much not gonna lie. Crisps have gone. Chocolate has gone. Bread has gone on none worm out days. I have to earn my bread haha!
      I’m hoping to notice a difference soon 👍
