Look at me remembering to post on a Friday night all over again (well, I mean, it kind of is right, even though it’s technically past midnight?!) I have been writing this post for hours though now, mainly because I have forgotten how to do things like blog, but also because I have been taking my whole day off to do completely diddly squit. It’s been quite a busy week full of things that don’t help dieting in anyway but are quite fun.

Last weekend, my friends from university were up visiting from Birmingham and Cardiff. It could not have been better weather for a bank holiday weekend, there was sun cream and ice cream and picnics and sunglasses and air conditioning. We explored the city on Saturday followed by a picnic, so on Sunday, we decided to get out of Liverpool and head to Chester. I love Chester, it’s a really nice city and is spectacular in the sun, and we had a great day wondering around the river and the walls fuelled by a Tavern breakfast. It was properly nice to see the girls and to spend a long time outside in the nice weather, let’s hope for lots more weekends like it this year.
Since then, the week hasn’t been quite as joyous or fun filled. I have spent a large amount of my time in work, which has been busy and long, and I have also spent time at home thinking about the fact that I have completely forgotten how to blog and how to read. It’s quite a problem when you blog largely about books. I just feel like this week is one of those weeks that is 100% forgettable.
The good news has been that this week has seen our holiday plans take a huge leap in the right direction. We have pretty much booked out Be Our Guest at Disney as much as humanly possible without spending all of our time in the Magic Kingdom. We also booked a character dining, and realised we needed to switch the date. It’s all fun. We’ve booked out car hires, and we’ve worked out the deal with the magical express, and we’ve booked our hotel for London. Yes, we’re staying in London on our way back now too because Emma managed to score tickets for Hayley Atwell and Jack Lowden’s turn in Measure for Measure at the Donmar Warehouse. It’s going to be such an insane trip.
As for fitness and food, well, it’s not been my best week or my worst week. I ate quite a bit at the beginning of the week when we went out for food and had drinks and snacks in Chester, but since then I have tried to cut back a little bit. I haven’t done any actual exercise this week. The girls were up for our normal zumba class so we went to the Tavern instead, and I didn’t do anything else all week BUUUUUUT I have walked proper loads this week which I guess is still pretty good, right? I did well at work, I didn’t have a single treat at the just because event, just fruit. I have also gone a little ice coffee crazy, mainly because we went to rewatch Avengers, but also because it’s just so so good.

I’m not quite sure how I have managed to lose weight this week but I have an I am very pleased. Long may this continue.
