I know I know, it’s late, and if you’re invested or want a long post, then it’s going to be doubly disappointed. I’ve had a really mixed week, dealing with bad news in the same week as dealing with Christmas festivities and indulgent food. Speaking of indulgent food, this week is Christmas for reals! We’re only 3 days away. I only have a single present left to buy now, and almost everything is wrapped and brought round to my parents, where I am spending Christmas this year.

This week has been all about getting ready for Christmas. Emma and I have finally put up our Christmas decorations (it took an embarrassingly long time, but looks good now as it is up!) We’ve got our tinsel banister, and it is finally feeling festive throughout out house. For some reason, or a combination of reasons, it has taken me a while to actually get the Christmas decorations out, so it’s nice now as they’re up. It didn’t take us long either, we definitely should have put them up early. Oh well. My Christmas cards have been sent too, not that they have been received yet. There’s only one day left, I have a feeling people could be receiving them next year at this rate!
It’s also been full steam ahead on the Christmas front at work. The office changed from our usual workplace to one full of festive treats. The work boards all have tinsel, there were Christmas trees everywhere, Christmas music playing, and lots of fun incentives. I like work at Christmas, I like to wear my ever growing collection of Christmas attire, and celebrate with my friends/colleagues. We also have the classic tradition of Secret Santa. I loved the presents I have received this year (thank you Santas!!!), everyone seems to know me really well. I took part in the duty and the team Secret Santa, so it was double the fun this year. It was also nice to swap presents over a lovely Christmas meal – something that I took for granted at the beginning of the week when I was really struggling to go out and celebrate.
I haven’t exercised much this week at all, which is a shame. I really couldn’t face going out and getting up for it. I will probably need to restart Coach to 5K in the New Year, especially as I am planning to run a 5/10K for charity in May. That will be something to keep me motivated for going ahead into the first half of the year. I have lost some weight, and as much as I am disappointed that I have put 1lb on and not lost the 2st I hoped for, 19lb is enough to be getting on with.

Hopefully I can keep most, if not all, of the 19lbs I have already lost off over Christmas, but it will be a challenge. I am off work now until January 1st (whoop whoop) so I will just have to work out and walk a lot, won’t I?
