Bout of Books 18: Stating my Intentions

bob-expert06You’ve guessed right everybody, everyone’s favourite low-key but blooming awesome readathon is back. Bout of Books 18 has been launched and will take place from Monday 2nd January for a fun filled, friendly paced week full of reading, twitter chats, challenges, and awesome people. And you’re invited too!!

For those who have never encountered this phenomenon before, or who don’t know much about it:

bob18The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 2nd and runs through Sunday, January 8th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional.

For all Bout of Books 18 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog and twitter. (use #boutofbooks) – From the Bout of Books team

There are very few rules associated with Bout of Books, which is one of the reasons I love it so much! There is no requirement to read a certain number of books, read a certain genre, over commit yourself, you just sign up here, read as much or as little as you like, and join in with as many twitter chats and challenges as you fancy.

Now, while there is no requirement to set out an intentions list, I always like to start my Bout of Books with a bit of a plan, a bit of a reading list, so I don;t aimlessly plough through the week reading bits and bobs of books I find lying round the house. I have sorted my books onto my shelves (almost) completely now, and Emma has moved an amazing collection of novels in with her as well, so I plan to set out with a 2017 reading plan, and Bout of Books is a great way to start the year off. So, here are my aims and intentions for Bout of Books 18:

  1. Read/listen to 3 books from 3 different genres. (My plan at this moment is to read Crooked Kingdom, Rebecca, and Live and Let Die but we’ll see how that goes.)
  2. Get involved with any/all challenges set daily by the lovely readathon hosts Amanda and Kelly.
  3. Participate in the readathons my work schedule permits, and engage with other wonderful Bout of Book-ers!
  4. Read and comment on other Bout of Books blog posts, and see what others are doing during the week.

So, if this sounds like something you would enjoy, if you like reading, and awesome people, and books, then sign up, take part, join in, we’d love to see you in January!

I’m so excited!

    1. That’s a shame, it would be awesome if you could have joined in! It’s nice and low key, so if you can’t commit much time it can still work!

I am looking forward to Crooked Kingdom, I loved Six of Crows!
